Angels residents discuss intersection implications

“The biggest issue is maintaining the historic character of downtown,” said Lee Seaton, Angels Camp City Councilman, at last week’s public meeting showcasing options available to the community for dealing with traffic congestion downtown and at the bottleneck where Highway 49 intersects Highway 4.

With Main Street slated to be returned to the city of Angels Camp in 2012, upon Caltrans’ completion of the Highway 4 Bypass, the city has hired Omni-Means, engineering and planning consultants based in Roseville, to facilitate design alternatives and gather public input on how the city should come to terms with its past, and future, thoroughfare.
